5 Star Value Rating: Rating: 88/100 Category: White Wines Case Size: 12 bottles Year: 2009 Jack's Comments: This amazing wine has one a blue Gold winner in the Sydney Wine Show as judged with food is really drinking extremely well, De Bortoli Sacred Hill Semillon Chardonnay has lots of flavour for a wine of this price point and would even put to shame a lot of wines that are far more expensive than this. As an everyday quaffer this is an bargain and not may wine will come anywhere near this wine for the quality in the bottle. Winemaker's Comments: De Bortoli Sacred Hill Semillon Chardonnay
Pale Straw with green hues. The Semillon contributes zesty citrus and straw aromas, the chardonnay peach characters with soft vanillin oak also evident.
The varietal expression of this Semillon Chardonnay blend with its lemon and stonefruit characters, harmonises with the vanillin oak and creamy texture on the finish. The grapes selected are chosen from vineyards that express the desired flavours. The Semillon providing citrus flavours and the Chardonnay peach and melon flavours. The Semillon and Chardonnay were fermentedseparately over 12-15 days between 12°C -14°C. Selected parcels were fermented with American Oak. Approx 25% of the blend completed malo-lactic fermentation. Blend: Semillon and Chardonnay Region: Riverina Cellaring Potential: This wine is drinking well now
