5 Star Value Rating: Rating: 91/100 Category: Red Wines Case Size: 12 bottles Year: 2006 Jack's Comments: I really enjoyed this wine. It is a lovely rich, full in flavour red wine. You will get black cherry and blackcurrant characters mixed with slights hints of plum and spice that mellows to a long lingering satisfying finish. The tannin structure is very good and does not overpower at the end. It is a great match for lighter meals and vegetarian dishes. Winemaker's Comments: Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot flourish in the Barossa. Blended together they create a red wine of classical breeding and distinction. A great example of the ability of these two classic varieties to create a rich and harmonious blend.
A deep brooding black cherry colour. The nose has aromas of blackcurrant and plums with hint of violets. The palate offers dark chocolate and blackberry: supple fine-grained tannins and a tight savoury finish.
Try with a chorizo and pepperoni pizza, vegetarian lasagne, a slow cooked ragu or even a paella.
Blend: Selected mature Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot
14.% ALC Region: Barossa Valley Cellaring Potential: Drinking well now. Could still improve over the next 2-3 years
