5 Star Value Rating: Rating: 93/100 Category: Red Wines Case Size: 6 bottles Year: 2005 Jack's Comments: This is one of the Premium range from the brilliant team at Yalumba. You are always assured of quality with this label as they consistently produce outstanding quality wines. This is no exception. It is a lovely big dark colour that looks magnificent in the glass. The nose is rich in fruit and floral aroma's. The palate shows a generous amount of fruit with lovely hints of mocha and an elegant tannin structure that leads to a excellent lingering finish. Winemaker's Comments: The grapes were hand picked and crushed to our 8 tonne open top stainless steel fermenters. The natural or 'wild' yeasts present on the grape skins were allowed to initiate the sugar fermentation. Cultured winery yeasts were then added to complete this fermentation. The result is a wine with excellent depth of colour, richness and complexity.
Deep dark red in colour this wine displays aromas which are dense and curranty, yet pure and bright. The nose shows lifted florals, violets and choc mints. The palate is brooding and serious with dark chocolate hazelnuts and warm generosity. The Signature finishes with long fine powdery tannins. Blend: Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz Region: Barossa Valley Cellaring Potential: 2009-2025
