5 Star Value Rating: Rating: 92/100 Category: White Wines Case Size: 12 bottles Year: 2008 Jack's Comments: They say a change is as good as a holiday and this wine reminds me of that saying. I have been tasting so many Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc's lately and I felt like I was stuck in a bit of a rut. This wine was a sensational change and just what I needed! It has a classic style feel that gives you lovely peach and citrus fruit on the palate and only small hints of the tropical fruits. The acidty at the end is extremely well structured to balance with the fruit to make for a fantastic wine. The flavours are delicate but precise and elegant at the same time. You will fall in love with this stunner! Winemaker's Comments: Waurn Ponds Creek meanders over 30km on its journey to the Barwon River, its many bends forming a chain of permanent waterholes along the way. Early settlers found the combination of fertile soil and permanent water ideal for grape growing and by mid 1800s the vineyard of Waurn Ponds were the most celebrated of Victoria.
A classic example of an aromatic white blend showing delicate tropical and citrus aromas, and a good acid finish. Region: Bellarine Peninsula Cellaring Potential: This wine has a few years age and is drinking extremely well now
