5 Star Value Rating: Rating: 93/100 Category: Red Wines Case Size: 12 bottles Year: 2006 Jack's Comments: We have been selling these wines for the last couple of years and Andrew Mills has never disappointed me with his wine yet. Rich deep intense but well balanced and the intensity and the flavours just linger, this wine is softer than the 2004 vintage yet I like it even more because it more generous and warm this is what great Heathcote Shiraz is all about. I have to be honest that not very often to I drink a whole bottle of wine in a night but with this I just could not put it down.
Heathcote has had a succession of drought years and as a result the yields are low but the quality of the fruit is fantastic. This is without doubt one of my favourite areas for wine.
Winemaker's Comments: Deep purple in colour with a vibrant dark purple hue; the nose displays earthy forest floor aromas with leather, spice and dark chocolate; the palate is grippy with intense fruit flavours of blood plums and dark cherries, opulent amounts of spice and pepper, dusty, loamy and earthy with an elegant style. Blend: Shiraz Region: Heathcote Cellaring Potential: cellar up to 10 years Awards/Trophies: Gold at Wine Style Asia 2008
