5 Star Value Rating: Rating: 91/100 Category: White Wines Case Size: 12 bottles Year: 2011 Jack's Comments: Lively with a tremendous amount of flavour and probably one of the better Sauvignon Blanc that I have tasted. Crowded House Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc has a great following from the people who love the NZ Sauvignon Blanc's and after you taste it you will understand why. A perfect spring/ summer drink that has excellent refreshing flavours. A wonderful balance of citrus and tropical fruits that are elegant and very exciting. It is a very smart wine that has plenty of class and at this price it is a must have Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc in your collection! Winemaker's Comments: Crowded House Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc Tasting Notes:
Colour: Bright pale lime juice.
Nose: Summertime! Fresh kiwifruit, lemongrass, and passionfruit sherbert.
Palate: Lively and zesty, citrus sorbet, zippy acidity balanced with natural fruit sweetness. Nice persistence on the back palate.
Vintage Notes:
2011 was a superb vintage in Marlborough, producing fruit packed full of intense varietal notes. This wine was a pleasure to make. Our focus was on retaining the lovely aromatics, as well as finding a balance between the crisp fresh acidity and fruit sweetness.
Crowded House Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc Vinification
This wine is made with a focus on capturing the fresh, zesty, and classic Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc characters and flavours. Fruit is harvested at various stages across the district to create a spectrum of flavours – from the lime/lemon right through to riper more tropical flavours. Fermentation is closely monitored and regulated to ensure cool, long, slow ferments which help to retain the natural fruit flavours in the final wine
