5 Star Value Rating: Rating: 89/100 Category: White Wines Case Size: 12 bottles Year: 2007 Winemaker's Comments: In keeping with the regional philosophy of Barwang, the fruit was handpicked from three blocks and treated differently to accentuate the individuality of each parcel. All of the fruit was separately and gently crushed then chilled to below 60C. The wine was then pressed to extract the free run juice with minimal skin contact. One parcel was bag pressed and allowed to sit on skins overnight before the juice was drained, to allow maximum flavour extraction. The juice was then fermented with a selected yeast in order to promote the natural fruit characters.
Pale straw with light green hues.
Aroma Intense varietal aromas of herbs and tomato vines coupled with passionfruit, mango and some underlying gooseberry and lychee characters.
Palate A lovely, lingering palate with intense passionfruit and kiwifruit flavours. These are complemented by the excellent structure, natural acid and nuances of lemon and mandarin Region: Tumbarumba NSW Cellaring Potential: Enjoy this wine now
