5 Star Value Rating: Rating: 90/100 Category: White Wines Case Size: 12 bottles Year: 2009 Jack's Comments: This is one funky wine. The label looks amazing and luckily the wine inside matches. It is another wonderful Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc showing all the usual suspects of passionfruit, grass and tropical aroma's. It is really well balanced creating a refreshing, crisp easy drinking wine that is not as in your face as some of the other Marlborough wines which is a nice change. This wine is guaranteed to impress. Winemaker's Comments: Appearance: Clean and bright with green edges
Bouquet: Freshly cut grass and nettle mingle with classic tropical aromas of passionfruit and gooseberry.
Palate: This fresh vibrant Sauvignon Blanc has herbaceous characters underpinned with hints of mineral and nettle flavours rounded off with a layer of tropical fruit. This combination of elements makes for a very exciting Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc.
2007 - 2008 was a great growing season with excellent flowering in November, a hot summer and warm autumn. This produced wine with layers of flavour, beautiful balanced fruit texture and a lingering taste that seems to go on forever. Blend: Sauvignon Blanc Region: Marlborough New Zealand Cellaring Potential: Enjoy this wine fresh and young Awards/Trophies: "Leading Kiwi winemaker Brent Marris and Darren De Bortoli from the Riverina have combined their talents and resources to produce 3 Tales, a Marlborough sauvignon blanc. It's an interesting spin on a very popular varietal style and may well have polarising potential. Yes, the familiar green grass, passionfruit and lychee characters are in evidence but there are also some pungent aromas that may not be to everyone's taste. See what you think."
