Wine: Aspen Estate Shiraz Reviewer: Peter Mitchell (NSW) Rating: 8/10 Review: At this price, to be honest I actually expected less than this wine delivers. Sure it is a bit "under-developed" at present and definitely does better if decantered before drinking, but what do you expext for this price? Having said the above I really enjoyed this wine, it punches above its price with a complexity that I have experienced in much dearer wines. Of course it is only new (2006) and the winemaker says "will reward in 1-2 years", and this will be close to spot on. However I would hesitate to say it might need 3-5years to show it full potential.
